Delta Air
Lines connects the world by flying 180 million customers to 300+ destinations
every year. On the Engineering Analytics data science team, we support the
TechOps Engineering, Quality, Planning and Safety divisions by building and
deploying machine learning models that leverage the latest NLP and LLM
technologies. Engineering Analytics is currently seeking a graduate-level
intern Data Scientist to develop insights, machine learning models, and
solutions aimed at continually improving airline performance and decision-making. Join our team to make a real-world impact by developing AI/ML solutions

An ideal
candidate will have educational experience in machine learning, statistical
analysis, and data storytelling. The candidate should have good organizational
and communication skills and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Primary
Functions:
+ Partnering with existing datascientists to develop advanced analytics solutions for complex businessproblems
+ Collecting data via Python or SQLqueries and performing exploratory data analysis
+ Building and optimizing NLP models for textclassification, information extraction etc.
+ Evaluating transformer-based language modelsto derive insights from unstructured text data
+ Presenting analysis and model outcomes tobusiness partners in a digestible way
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Pursuing aMaster’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
+ Experienceworking with relational databases (SQL).
+ Understandingof Machine Learning techniques via tools such as Python, Scikit-learn, R, SASor other machine learning platforms
+ Good written,oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Must be able to commit to the duration of the internship timeline: August 18, 2025, through December 12, 2025.
+ Working as an intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
+ Must be able to work onsite in the Atlanta, GA office.
