Graduate Medical Education Undergrad Intern
Job Summary: Under supervision assists in the provision of information, maintenance of databases, report production and routine data analysis. Work is reviewed for completeness, accuracy and soundness. Department Description: The Graduate Education Department oversees our residency and fellowship programs, along with medical students who wish to rotate at our facilities for clinical rotations. For more than 65 years, Kaiser Permanente Southern California’s residency programs have trained the finest physicians. With maximum accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, we offer 36 residency and fellowship training programs in 26 different specialties. Physicians at every medical center hold academic appointments at the leading medical schools in Southern California and train more than 300 residents and fellows each year. Project Description: This person will work with the Contracts Team on our various agreements with outside institutions for rotations to our facilities or their facilities by residents and fellows, as well as working on updating our database, creating reports, and updating our SharePoint page. They will also work with us and our Legal Team to help smooth line processes for submissions and renewals. Desired Majors: Business Administration, Healthcare Administration. Desired Skillsets: This individual should have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Essential Responsibilities: Examples of project support include: Collects, prepares and tracks reports and summaries such as: budget to actual expenditures, production statistics, and utilization of services and statistical records of performance. Performs a variety of data collection and analysis assignments. Prepares ad hoc data requests as directed. Prepares and/or formats graphs, spreadsheets and reports by utilizing office software. May be asked to maintain databases on a regular basis by entering data and preparing data extracts. May extract information from different sources to compile data. Executes existing queries for established reports. Schedules conference calls and meetings. Contributes to the development of presentations materials. Provides administrative and project support as assigned such as copying, filing, entering and extracting data. Engages in and supports project work. License, Certification, Registration + N/A Additional Requirements: + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - excel, word, access and PowerPoint. + Proficient with a variety of software applications. + Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Knowledge of Access and database experience desirable. + Prior office experience also desirable. Notes: • Will work in Graduate Medical Education with the Contracts Team.
