Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

This role is a fixed term contract position. •As a Graduate – Engineer Process Control & Automation, Engineer Process Control & Improvement, Engineer Reliability and Specialist HSER, you will be responsible for the Process Control & Improvement teams is to administer the production standards, operating procedures and control systems that ensure critical controls of the production processes exist and are effective. To conduct the production system monitoring and analysis and execute improvements to production systems and practices to achieve and maintain the predictable, stable and required levels of operating performance.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Producing production standards, operating procedures and control systems to ensure; • Critical controls of the production processes are effective; • Conducting production system monitoring and analysis; • Identify improvements to production systems and practices to achieve and maintain the predicable, stable and required levels of operating performance within HSEC requirements; • Load engineering requests with business case motivations and supporting documents for front end loading   in projects pipeline.

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Have an inclination to work in heavy industry; • Attention to detail and the ability to work within a team is essential; • Computer literacy is essential; • Any vacation work experience or practical training experience with exposure to Engineering will be advantageous. • Good communication, analytical and logical thinking skills will be preferable; • Demonstrated verbal and written English language proficiency.

 

Qualifications for this role are:

• Degree/BTECH in Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or, • Degree/BTECH in Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or, • Degree / B-Tech in Health, Safety, Environment or Risk.
