The Opportunity
Arup Ireland are seeking talented candidates interested in the planning and design of roads and streets projects to join our Roads and Streets team in Ireland. We look for candidates who are ready to jump into the professional world; diverse individuals with inquisitive minds and a desire to challenge.
The successful candidate will work within the Roads and Streets team delivering a range of urban and rural design projects including road projects (both road improvements and new roads), urban street design incorporating public realm improvements, Public Transport priority measures, as well as Active Travel and Greenway projects.
The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience within an established consultancy with flexible working options between home and office. They will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects for high profile clients within Ireland and further afield. This role also offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.
A role in the Roads team will include opportunities to input into design and coordination, often liaising with other multi-disciplinary contributors to projects. You will be required to deliver projects to the required technical standards in a timely manner, reporting to the team leader or project manager as appropriate.
As a Graduate Roads and Streets Engineer at Arup, you will:
Prepare technical designs for projects, including geometrical alignment and drainage, drawings, reports, correspondence, and other outputs in accordance with approved design standards and procedures in line with the delivery programme. Undertake research to inform updates to existing and the development of new national design standards and policy. Ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, strategies, and technical guidance is interpreted, followed and communicated across the team with guidance from senior members of staff. Implement the appropriate QA procedures for all deliverables and ensure compliance with H&S requirements; and Communicate effectively and in a team environment with a broad cross-section of individuals. This would typically include but is not limited to; roads and streets team colleagues and project managers, other internal design disciplines, clients and contractors.

We're looking for graduates who are currently working towards a Level 8 Degree in Civil/ Environmental Engineering or Environment Management or similar Transport, planning or environmental management related final year project/ Masters desirable.
