Your role and responsibilities

As an intern or graduate student at ABB, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the realisation of a simulation kit that takes process automation education to the next level. This multifunctional kit will be deployed within ABB University in Etten-Leur and must be adaptable for a range of processes, including the dynamic simulation of tank filling and heating, pump and valve control, and advanced conveyor systems. This requires a design that is not only technically advanced, but also user-friendly andquickly adaptable to various training needs. The challenge lies in creating a kit that is compatible with ABB's various control systems, such as the 800xA, SattLine and Freelance controllers. You will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of these systems through training in 800xA.Furthermore, this assignment will challenge you to define the simulation kit specifications and requirements in collaboration with our team of engineers and trainer. Your fresh perspective and technical skills will be crucial in defining and meeting these requirements, balancing technical capabilities with educational effectiveness.What are we looking for?For our Energy Industries division in Etten-Leur, we are looking for a driven Electronics or Mechatronics graduate or intern to help us develop a multi-functional simulation kit. This kit will play a key role in training professionals in the field of process automation by simulating various industrial processes, such as filling and heating tanks, controlling pumps and valves, and transport mechanisms.

Qualifications for the role

You are an enthusiastic and motivated HBO student looking for a (graduation) internship in the field of mechatronics and/or electronics.You are looking for an internship for at least 5 months.A wait-and-see attitude does not suit you, because you like to take the initiative.You feel at home in a professional technological environment in which you are able to work independently and accurately.You have experience with programming.You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.Experience with MS Office speaks for itself.
