SALARY RANGE: $15 to $17 / hour

REPORTS TO: General Manager                                                                                                              STATUS: Non-Exempt

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Grain Intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the grain industry, including operations, logistics, marketing, and customer service. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the grain supply chain, from sourcing and storage to sales and distribution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist in daily grain operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping grain. Monitor grain quality and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Work with the logistics team to coordinate grain movement and transportation. Support customer service efforts by communicating with producers and buyers. Contribute to grain marketing activities, including price tracking and market analysis. Learn and assist with inventory management and grain handling equipment. Participate in special projects as assigned by the management.

REQUIREMENTS

Educations and Experience

Currently enrolled in an agricultural, business, or related field. Strong interest in the grain industry and supply chain management. Basic understanding of agricultural markets and commodity trading is a plus.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor. High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teammates at all levels. Ability to identify and address issues in a proactive manner. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and teammates. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Other Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others. Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands. Ability and willingness to participate in required training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training related to the position’s requirements.
