*COMPANY: *Total Grain Marketing * HIRING MANAGER: *Terry Probst * LOCATION: *Effingham, IL * SALARY: *$19/Hour * BENEFITS:* We are dedicated to supporting the long-term financial well-being of our employees and encourage our interns to start planning for retirement early by offering them the opportunity to participate in our 401(k) plan. * SALARY RANGE: *$18-$22 / hour * _PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT_* Under the direction and guidance of the Merchandising Manager, the intern will successfully learn, and complete tasks associated with the merchandising desk while completing a business-related project. * _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Learn about and track cash basis value changes. Assist with updating bid sheets supplied to our producers daily. * Work with Merchandising Manager in assisting facility managers with planning, analysis, and marketing of current house stocks and future shipping needs. * Work with Merchandising Manager and Business Manager to complete a project for better analytics of our company * Build upon the professional relationship with current customers and end users. * Prospect new customers and help with origination. * _OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Follow all OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply while conducting themselves according to the Total Grain Marketing employee handbook. * Performs all other duties as assigned. * _REQUIREMENTS_* * In good academic standing at the time of the internship at a 2-year or 4-year school, pursuing a degree in Agriculture or Business-related degree * Demonstrates essential abilities including collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. * Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. * Ability to travel independently and overnight. * Occasionally exposed or required to: o Noisy conditions o Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures o Work at varying heights including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc. * _WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE_* * We value* relationships* and people first and foremost * We are a company that *is committed to being an innovation leader in the agriculture industry* * We emphasize *sustainability* practices and stewardship of our resources * We enjoy access to in-house *training* and *leadership development* opportunities _ *WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT US*_ The GROWMARK Internship Program has been in existence for 66 years.
