Grant Accountant
Job Title: Grant AccountantJob Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Accountant. This position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates to gain valuable experience in grant accounting while performing essential accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, reporting duties, and preparation of expense and reimbursement packets. Responsibilities + Prepare journal entries and budget vouchers with supporting documentation. + Analyze data, reconcile general ledger accounts, and verify the accuracy of accounting classifications. + Maintain files and records, both digital and physical, as required. + Prepare periodic and special reports on grant account status or analysis as needed. + Submit work assignments to the supervisor for review of accuracy and completeness. + Address issues related to grants accounting and ensure compliance with grantor and institutional requirements. + Attend trainings and meetings as needed. + Assist the grants office and institutional research office with reviewing new grant applications and related budgets. + Prepare for audits and respond to auditors' questions. + Ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, and private grants. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred + 1+ years of accounting experience + Experience within GAAP + Intermediate Excel skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Sharp and willing to learn + Some experience in reconciliation, month-end processes, and project management + Ability to prepare journal entries Work Environment This is a fully on-site position with standard working hours. The workweek consists of 37.5 hours and includes holidays and generous PTO once converted.
