Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Grant Accountant in the Housing Association industry located in EMMAUS, Pennsylvania, United States. This role involves comprehensive responsibility for development project accounting and serves as the primary accounting liaison to the Housing Development department.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the maintenance of financial spreadsheets and construction budgets
• Handle the initial set-up, monthly and annual reconciliation of the development general ledger accounts
• Supervise development project invoicing, draws, and payables
• Prepare cost certifications and audit materials
• Advise on development accounting and financial performance
• Guide Housing Development Officer on investor, lender, and audit compliance
• Work closely with other Accountants
• Oversee cash flow for all development project sources
• Reconcile development project receivables and provide monthly reports of advances to development projects
• Prepare and process funding draw requests
• Oversee the accounts payable process for development projects
• Prepare and transmit line of credit drawdown and repayment requests
• Work with Housing Development Officer and auditors to prepare cost certifications for construction projects
• Provide trial balances to Controller and auditor
• Perform accurate journal entries for all acquisition, construction, and permanent loan closings
• Prepare other reports and perform duties as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems to manage financial records efficiently
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions to maintain accurate financial reports
• Experience in Auditing to ensure financial compliance and accuracy
• Familiarity with Budget Processes to aid in financial planning and forecasting
• Understanding of Capital Management to optimize financial resources
• Capability to manage Cash Activity to ensure correct and timely transactions
• Expertise in Grant Accounting to handle funding related financial matters
