Grant Analyst
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the non-profit industry in New York, New York for the role of a Grant Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing a portfolio of grants utilizing various accounting software systems and CRM tools. Responsibilities • Review and submit grant budgets to funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines. • Prepare and submit timely billings to funders, including both government and private entities. • Analyze and modify grants as per funders' guidelines, ensuring all changes are properly documented and communicated. • Close out grants promptly in line with funders' requirements, maintaining clear and accurate records throughout the process. • Provide support during audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available and accurately reflects grant activities. • Generate reports from the Blackbaud Financial Edge database, specifically the FE NXT, to monitor and report on grant activities. • Use various funders' portals such as HHS Accelerator, PASSPort, Grants Gateway, SFS, etc. for grant management and billing processes. • Leverage strong analytical and Excel skills to analyze grant data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. • Ensure all grant-related activities comply with accounting functions and budget processes. Requirements • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in the use of Accounting Software Systems. • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. • Familiarity with Crystal Reports software. • Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) software. • Solid understanding of accounting functions. • Experience with auditing processes. • Familiarity with benefit functions within a non-profit context. • Experience in managing budget processes. • Proficiency in handling cash activity. • Extensive knowledge of government grants. • Experience with private grants and their requirements. • Understanding of contract procedures and management. • Experience with contract finance within the non-profit sector.
