JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Qualifications:

·         A minimum of 5 years’ of related experience in general ledger systems and strong accounting background.

·         Strong accounting/systems skills including accounting principles, financial analysis, and common accounting terminology.

·         Must be well organized.

·         Ability to work independently and collaborate with creativity and vision.

·         Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both finance and operations teams.

·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office & Excel.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.

·         Workday experience preferred.

·         Federal grant experience preferred.

Summary of Job:

The Grant Biller will report to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate brings a strong accounting background which informs an understanding of monthly operations and billing rules for both federal and state grants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Preparation of grant budgets at time of the grant award, which could include a revision of the budget in the original grant application.

·         Assists Grant Management team with Federal special conditions requests.

·         Responsible for either review or preparation of budget revisions to the controlling authority during grant operations.

·         Assist the Regional Finance Officer or Accounting Manager with the annual Centerstone budget in regards to local, federal and state grants.

·         Preparation of Local, State, and Federal quarterly and annual reports, including Federal Financial Reporting and assistance with Federal Indirect Rate annual renewal.

·         Responsible for the monthly billing of local, federal, and state grants.

·         Fiscal point of contact for Project Directors, may include independent research if answers are unknown.

·         Review and understand each grant award and fiscal requirements.

·         Participate and lead grant budget meetings.

·         Performs auditing of grant financial reports and completeness of account coding accuracy, including review for unallowable expenses.

·         Assists Project Directors and their teams with inventory tracking required by Federal awards.

·         Assists and trains grant staff with time entry. Ensures coding accuracy with great communication and follow up.

·         Works directly with Project Directors to maximize grant financial performance.

·         Assists with external audit as needed in relation to grants, may include funder requests or Single Audit.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: 

No Travel required. This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 with some expanded work schedule during high volume times of the department.
