Position Purpose:
The Managing Director for the Creative Arts Collective (CAC) will be responsible for successfully leading the implementation of all its activities; and as the second in command, this position reports to the Executive Director, and oversees all Creative Arts Collective staff. The Managing Director will provide financial, personnel, and grants administration leadership to the Creative Arts Collective to ensure program outcomes.
The Creative Arts Collective for Christian Life and Faith is a hub for Christian arts based at Belmont University with a primary aim to inspire people from diverse contexts to discover and live the beauty and wisdom of the Christian story and encounter God through the arts. The three objectives of the Creative Arts Collective are creating and curating new art, educating and nurturing Christian imagination, and cultivating and sustaining a thriving network in Christianity and the arts. One key strategy for advancing the aim and objectives is making grants to organizations and individuals. All activities in the Creative Arts Collective are funded by a major grant from Lilly Endowment. A primary focus of the managing director role is to build and implement processes and systems that ensure grant compliance with the Lilly Endowment as well as ensuring those who receive grants from the Creative Arts Collective are compliant with organizational standards.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the CAC team
• Build, maintain and provide strategic oversight of grants management operations including grantee application and selection process, budget and data management, and creation, implementation, and maintenance of systems and processes
• Monitor budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related activities both for the operations of the Creative Arts Collective as well as for the granting making process
• Prepare and present reports, proposals, and presentations to stakeholders and Belmont leadership on grant results and impact both for the Creative Arts Collective as a whole and for the CAC’s function as a grant-making entity
• Maintain relationship and reporting responsibilities with Lilly Endowment, Inc., in conjunction with the VP and Executive Director
• Serve as primary contact to the CAC’s visionary advisory board
• Build and maintain effective relationships with contacts, stakeholders, and grantees
