Job Summary
The Design Artist is responsible for the creation of all graphics and textile print/pattern outside of Carhartt’s seasonal Go-to-Market calendar. Products will span all categories (Outerwear, 1st Layer, Tops, Bottoms, and Accessories) across both Men’s and Women’s. Emphasis in this role is creating and executing against accelerated timelines. These products are created to support specific consumer, channel, and account needs – providing market segmentation and differentiation opportunities for key accounts and D2C.

Representative Responsibilities
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Apparel/Textile Design, or related discipline; or equivalent years of related experience in lieu of degree.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience work experience in graphics/print pattern development Ability to lead projects Knowledge of various styles of illustrations, manipulating and working with typography. Experience with print, applique & embroidery, and textile design, preferred. Advanced computer knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite CS5. Experience with PLM system preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong business relationships, and work effectively in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills with all levels, including management and external partners/vendors. Strong presentation skills with the ability to present messages clearly and concisely. Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Embraces uncertainty and change; ability to pivot when needed. Ability to make decisions quickly when facing obstacles, an openness to change, embraces seeking unconventional solutions for roadblocks. Apparel and construction knowledge, preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Open office setting. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required. Light lifting may be required 10 LBS Willing to work weekends if necessary. National and International travel required (up to 20%). This position has a Hybrid location: Associate will work on-site regularly as needed for work activities.
