Applications may be rejected if incomplete.* Minimum Qualifications Louisiana State University in Shreveport is searching for a vibrant Graphic Design Specialist to enrich the university’s current marketing efforts. The Graphic Design Specialist will be a member of the Media and Public Relations team, designing and developing external and internal marketing pieces for a wide range of campaigns. Pieces will include digital billboards, printed brochures, social media graphics, presentations, flyers, web elements, event collateral, signage and more. The Specialist will manage multiple design projects simultaneously and serve as a university liaison with vendors for any outsourced communication projects. The Graphic Design Specialist will collaborate with other members of the media and public relations team to design solutions that meet project goals and objectives for campus constituents. Reporting to the Director of Media and Public Relations, the Graphic Design Specialist must work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success on projects. The ideal candidate can meet tight deadlines and incorporate feedback from the team to refine and improve designs. The Specialist must have a varied design portfolio, showcasing strong layout skills, color theory application and font styles. The best candidate will have strong interpersonal communication skills and be highly organized, maintaining a library of original and curated designs that are easily accessed by the team. They must be a self-starter who can perform tasks appropriately with minimal supervision while contributing to the overall success of the team. They must also possess impeccable attention to detail and display superb time management as it relates to deadlines. The ideal candidate will implement ADA principles into their projects. This person must also be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Responsibilities and Duties Design original assets and elements for use in internal and external university marketing while adhering to university brand standards. Ensure all projects adhere to LSU Shreveport's branding guidelines, enhancing the institution's reputation through consistent, high-quality visuals. Create design solutions optimized for both print and digital platforms, ensuring aesthetic consistency across formats Create Canva templates for use by campus constituents. Design cohesive campaign assets of varying sizes that complement each other as part of the larger campaign. Collaborate with the Director and other team members to ensure cohesive visual branding across all projects. Prep artwork for production, including file formatting and quality checks. Assist with photo editing, retouching, and visual adjustments to maintain brand consistency as needed. Work with university stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver visually effective solutions. Maintain a library of assets that are clearly labeled and easily accessed by the team or third party vendors. Stay informed of design trends and advancements in technology, applying innovative approaches to campaign designs Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required. Professional work experience in a graphic design-related role is required. Must have extensive experience creating eye-catching, effective design pieces for various campaigns. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva Pro. Must be a team player who is willing to be creative and strategic. Must be willing to learn new skills as necessary to keep up with current marketing trends. Must be willing to take constructive feedback and implement it into a design. Must be able to provide an online design portfolio. Must have a strong background in color theory and layout design. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in designing accessible content, by applying color contrast and layout principles for ADA compliance preferred. 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience a plus. Experience working in a higher education environment a plus. Experience creating motion graphics preferred. Benefits for unclassified employees are determined by the individual hiring authority.
