The Opportunity

The Prepress Designer uses knowledge of the flexographic printing process to interpret / convert customer supplied inputs into an approved art file that conforms to all specifications in order to facilitate the production and use of photopolymer printing plates for large format flexographic printing.

Accurately prepare / create art files for approval by internal / external customersUnderstand, communicate and apply appropriate graphic allowancesUnderstand graphic requirements through the use of Customer / Press Specification LibraryAdd printing marks and set bleeds as requiredCheck and proof artwork to ensure accuracy ahead of sending to QC dept Perform audits of work instruction proceduresCollaborate with Team Members and Management to develop creative corrective actions / solutions to customer issues or gaps in process to improve quality, lower cost and accelerate speed to marketEstablish goals, track resultsPrioritize and organize daily workloadAssure that on a daily basis all company standards and Customer commitments are metWork Safely at all timesPerform other duties as assigned and assist anywhere needed

What you need to succeed:

Experience with Flexographic Printing and Plates preferredAdobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and Mac Experience RequiredDetail orientatedStrong written & oral communication skills (experience necessary)Problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent time management skills - ability to be proactive and acknowledge priorityKnowledge of production capabilities and other department operationsAbility to resolve conflicts and develop teamworkAbility to work independently
