SALARY RANGE
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 Annually $1,730.77 - $1,923.08 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
This is a creative and technical positions that involves design creation, collaboration and creative concepting. This position works with the team to implement and design brand and website based needs to help generate a clear message and disseminate APD’s mission to external and internal partners. The primary responsibilities are for the day-to-day construction of visually compelling design for various digital and print mediums.
The Work You Will Do
+ Creation of graphics and logos for various projects to meet agency needs.
+ Maintains and ensure quality of agency branding and logo use by APD staff.
+ Creates graphics and layouts for use on the Web.
+ Coordinates and organizes internal and external agency events.
+ Provides graphics components of communications plans.
+ Edits photographs as needed for print material and Web.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or English is preferred.
+ Preference given to someone Accredited in Public Relations.
+ Must possess good writing skills.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Purchasing Card transactions with commodities and travel, purchasing requisitions, and E-Forms.
+ Basic management principles and practices.
Ability to:
+ Utilize problem-solving techniques.
+ Utilize appropriate public relations/communications skills and process consumer issues.
+ Work independently.
+ Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to management analysis activities.
+ Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
+ Communicate effectively.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and,
+ Organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other materials.
Demonstrate Skills in:
+ Public Relations and special event planning.

+ Basic Graphic design skills and the ability to be creative graphically.
+ Familiarity with media relations.
+ Compiling/editing newsletters and other publications.
+ Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint programs.

Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
