We are growing our Studio Operations Team here at WBD at Techwood Studios in Atlanta.   Studio Operations is changing throughout the industry. Therefore, we are also expanding our world class facilities in support of our top tier, innovative productions happening here daily.  Not only that, our portfolio of work continues to evolve; which is why now would be a great time for additional great talent to be a part of our amazing team.

Your New Role:
The Graphics Operator is responsible for helping WBD productions achieve excellent technical, creative, and visual results because of the prep, transfer, and playback of on-screen and studio graphics during live game and/or studio broadcast productions.  They are proficient with the operation of character generated hardware/software tools used during live game and studio broadcast productions. The Graphics Operator is also responsible for maintaining a high level of skill and knowledge regarding a wide variety of hardware/software tools used in the Graphics department.  This person will have a passion for sports with a creative eye and understanding for storytelling.

Your Role Accountabilities:

LIVE/TAPED PRODUCTIONS

Partner with Technical Operations and Production Assistant to set up graphics machines for the specific needs of the live game and/or studio broadcast production.Build graphics packages for WBD Broadcast Production clients using elements created by our Graphics Design team to construct graphics templates which will be used by all graphics operators on the live game and/or studio broadcast productions.Partner with the Client’s Production Assistant to prepare graphics needed for specific live productions in advance.Operate graphics’ machines with efficiency and accuracy to recall all needed graphical elements created during prep sessions and/or live game/studio broadcast productions.Able to manipulate graphics and create new graphics on the fly during live game and/or studio broadcast productions as needed or requested by the WBD Broadcast Production client.Must be able to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints

COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION

Work closely with Technical Operations and Production (BEST) Engineering to identify, troubleshoot and solve technical problems in graphics workflow for Live Location and Production Control Room broadcast.  Making sure each problem is resolved to completion.Collaborates with Production (BEST) Engineering, Technical Operations and Production Management to identify and special order any equipment needed for live game and/or studio broadcast productions.

PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates documentation on graphics builds and graphics machine set ups for each broadcast productionProactively develops new skills related to the current graphics systems at Techwood Studios as well as ancillary applications such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Visual Studio, etc.  Applies new skills and knowledge to current projects and processes, pushing the capabilities of the existing technology.

Qualifications & Experiences:

Minimum of 3 years of network level broadcast production experience operating as a Graphics Operator for live game, live remote and/or live studio productionsKnowledge of industry standard graphics software (ROSS Xpression, Chyron, VizRT, Adobe Creative Suite)Able to read/follow documentation explaining workflows for specific graphics equipment and productionsGood computer skills, such as MS OfficeAble to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

Not Required but preferred experience:

Knowledgeable of iNewsKnowledge of major sports (NBA, MLB, NHL, US Soccer, etc)Knowledgeable of new technologies available or on the horizon
