Basic Job Functions:

Responsible for maintaining the grating panel welding EVG machinery including preventive maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, repair and parts ordering. Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Create and maintain a preventative maintenance program for the EVG equipment following the OEM standards and practices. Inspect, operate, and test the EVG machinery to diagnose machine malfunctions. Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges. Program and configurate of Variable Frequency Drive Lenze series 82, 93, 84 and94 and Siemens simovert (hardware and software). Communicate with EVG manufacturer personnel to troubleshoot, repair, and install proprietary machinery. Order parts, supplies, or equipment from Manufacturer catalogs and suppliers. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking EVG blueprints and repair manuals, as necessary. Install experimental parts or assemblies, such as Andritz Hydro systems (hydraulic), electrical wiring, lubricants, or batteries into machines or mechanisms. Estimate costs to repair machinery, equipment, or building structures. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Maintain and repair specialized equipment or machinery. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Plan and lay out repair work, read and interpret EVG machinery installation blueprints and using diagrams, drawings, maintenance manual and schematic diagrams. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Five (5) years of experience installing, operating, and repairing EVG machinery.  Experience must include: Creating and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for EVG equipment following the OEM standards and practices. Reading and interpreting EVG machinery installation blueprints. Installing experimental parts or assemblies, such as Andritz Hydro systems (hydraulic), electrical wiring, lubricants, or batteries into machines or mechanisms.
