ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Maintenance Manager in the preparation of and adherence to annual maintenance budgets.Provides scheduled appraisals of all direct reports.Develops a strong safety awareness and consciousness within the Maintenance Department.Ensures that the Maintenance Department is in compliance with BOS’s, safety programs, and shop audits.Takes an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and utilization of SPC for process improvement.Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow.Prepares necessary requisitions to ensure required parts and materials are at the plant site in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary downtime.Completes and submits required reports in a timely manner.To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

 

Prior leadership experience preferred.Technical knowledge of production equipment, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and familiarity with machine shop and tools, maintenance, and construction priorities.Demonstrated skills in time management and managing multiple priorities.Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and regulatory requirement.Requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to effectively perform complex and technical tasks.

 

As a member of the leadership team at the facility, your participation in the continuous improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your current skill base.

 

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
