Overview The Greenhouse Production Supervisor will be working at the Chatham Bars Inn Farm, located on Route 6A in Brewster. This facility produces high quality organic vegetables for use at several restaurants located at the Chatham Bars Inn resort in Chatham, MA. Candidates with a strong passion for sustainable agriculture and experience in greenhouse operations are preferred. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Oversee, maintain and manage all greenhouse operations ranging from spring seedling production to main season vegetable production Greenhouse operations will entail but are not limited to soil preparation, seeding, potting-up, irrigation, pest control, harvesting and fertility management Implement and oversee comprehensive IPM (Integrated Pest Management) plan through use of approved organic pesticides, beneficial organisms and cultural practices Responsible for daily watering and care of seedlings and young plants Assist with all other farm duties as necessary including planting, harvesting, processing and general property maintenance & repair Qualifications Previous farm hand experience (strongly preferred) Demonstrated passion for sustainable / organic agriculture Ability to maintain a professional attitude and neat appearance Follows direction well. Strong attention to detail and organization Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting Ability work under challenging ergonomic conditions, including work that requires frequent crouching, bending and kneeling. Ability to regularly lift loads of 50lbs or more Ability to work outside in all climates Valid Driver’s License is required
