Job Summary:

The Groundskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course.

Job Description:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Must possess the ability design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf courseMust possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course including greens, tees, fairways, roughs and landscapingMust possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to the golf course operationsAbility to give oral and written instructionsSkilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovationMust be dependable

Responsibilities:

Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facilityMows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees and other areasWaters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional waterRepairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as neededGrades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairwaysTrims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower bedsApplies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf coursePerform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.   They will occasionally be required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel, and climb.The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally.Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards.Noise level is typically loudWork extended hours during golf and holiday seasonWork weekends and holidays
