Grid Control - Capital Integration Senior Manager

In this job, you’ll be the Capital Integration Senior Manager in Grid Control (GC) providing leadership on transmission grid operations and engineering functions related to “Capital” projects to maintain safe and reliable electric service. This position will report to the Grid Control Principal Manager and will act as Manager in Charge with on-call duty as necessary. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? **Responsibilities** + Manage direct reports in carrying out Grid Control responsibilities in providing for real-time safe and reliable operation of SCE electric system during both normal and emergency system conditions. + Ensure compliance with all applicable NERC and WECC Reliability Standards, SCE policies and procedures and applicable CISO procedures and tariff requirements. + Provide Grid Control operational interface with counterparts from CISO, NERC, WECC, neighboring utilities, and SCE internal employees. + Collaborate with Senior Managers in Substation Organization, Protection Engineering, Grid Planning, Major Projects Organization (MPO) and Generation Interconnection groups to ensure proactive identification of operating requirements and integration of substation design to develop mutually beneficial goals that minimize operational impacts and maximize customer and project needs. + Represent Grid Operations in cross functional teams chartered with problem solving power system infrastructure integration issues within SCE, providing solutions and recommendations to optimize Capital resources and meet operational/system needs. + Ensure Grid Control employees receive timely and accurate reports and documentation of significant system events or other reportable incidents that may potentially affect SCE assets. + Develop, review, and implement Grid Control operational policies and procedures and safe work practices. + Provide support and possible oversight of various regulatory audits. + Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. + Facilitate hiring, training, and development of Grid Control personnel to maintain adequate staffing requirements. + Perform normal administrative responsibilities for direct reports and other responsibilities and duties as assigned. + Provide PSPS GCC Liaison support role on PSPS IMT Task Force as needed. + A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. **Minimum Qualifications** + Five or more years of experience managing, supervising, project manager, or leading an organization, unit, or team + Seven or more years of electrical system operational experience **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on “Power” or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. + Experience with bulk power transmission, sub-transmission and/or distribution systems. + Experience with real-time operations and monitoring of electrical system conditions, line flows, voltages, and equipment limits. + NERC System Operator certification at the Reliability Coordinator level. + Experience with operating policies, practices and procedures and ensuring compliance with NERC, FERC, WECC, and CISO. + Experience with Capital and O&M accounting, including timekeeping and budget management + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Outage Request and Logging System. + Experience adhering to electrical system operating and safety procedures. **Additional Information** + This position’s work mode is **hybrid.** The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time in the field throughout the SCE service territory. + Position may require up to 60% travel out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. + This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.
