Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Grid Operations policies, procedures, and best practices. You will monitor and analyze grid performance, trends, and risks. Additionally, you will lead and mentor Grid Operations staff and contractors. Responsibilities

Monitors and analyzes grid performance, trends, and risks including workload leveling of core Grid Operations resources

Provides technical expertise and support for grid operations projects and initiatives

Develops and implements grid operations policies, procedures, tools, and best practices

Coordinates cross-functional teams representing Grid Operations end users, as well as end users spanning SCE, to develop, test, and /or deploy new technologies, (ie, Advanced Distribution Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management System, AI use cases) and enhancements to existing systems

Engages stakeholders, evaluates change impacts, and recommends or implements process or procedural changes, to meet business needs

Influences key stakeholders and leaders throughout SCE to build consensus and support for deployment strategies

Develops and presents materials to senior and executive leadership on behalf of Grid Operations, and various supported projects

Coordinates and directs the support of subject matter experts and project members with diverse experience and technical backgrounds, to meet project and initiative milestones

Supports General Rate Case testimony and prepares and responds to data requests

Provides direction and mentoring to specialists, advisors, and other team members

A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

Ten years of experience in grid operations, planning, or engineering

Experience in grid operations standards, regulations, and technologies

 

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field Ability to analyze data and identify trends, resolve challenges, and support strategic decisions with measurable results  Experience communicating with stakeholders, demonstrating leadership skills, and promoting team collaboration and engagement

 

 

Additional Information 

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs. Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.  Position will require up to 50% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.  This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Relocation does not apply to this position.
