Grinder

 

Job Purpose
To operate cylindrical and surface grinders as required, ensuring precision and quality in the manufacturing process while adhering to planned schedules.

 

Main Duties
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, operating a variety of grinding machines, including surface and cylindrical grinders for bespoke advanced food processing equipment and component parts. Your responsibilities will include:

Operating cylindrical and surface grinding machines effectively and safely.Dressing and changing abrasive wheels as needed.Working according to defined schedules and planned times to meet production targets.Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures in the work area.Collaborating within the team and contributing ideas for process improvements.Opportunities to undertake tasks and obtain experience within other departments.

 

Candidate Profile
We welcome candidates with a strong engineering background and the following skills and qualities:

Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship is highly desirable.Proven ability to operate cylindrical and surface grinding machines.Skilled in abrasive wheel dressing and changing.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.Methodical and thorough approach to work, with strong attention to quality.Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.Strong team player with the ability to offer constructive improvement ideas.Be aware of and demonstrate the company values and behaviours.To be aware of and follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures including feeding back any H&S information to management.
