**Job Title: Grinding Machine Operator** **Job Description** As a Grinding Machine Operator, you will read shop drawings and adjust machines to meet dimensional requirements. You will operate grinding and milling machines, following all safety and quality standard procedures. You will also produce a daily Mill/Grinding Turnover of Information Report for the Lead/Supervisor of the next shift. Additionally, you will check and verify equipment for defects before moving items to the shipping area. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret shop drawings to adjust machines for dimensional requirements. + Operate grinding and milling machines while adhering to safety and quality standards. + Produce daily Mill/Grinding Turnover of Information Reports for the next shift. + Check and verify equipment for defects before shipping. + Change worn grinding wheels using wrenches. + Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts. + Maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment and supplies. + Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters. + Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). **Essential Skills** + 6+ months working with CNC grinding machines. + 6+ months experience with setup and changeovers. + Experience with CNC machines. + Production skills. + Machine operation skills. + Blueprint reading skills. + Experience with milling machines and grinding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience using overhead cranes. + Experience with forklifts. + Experience performing routine maintenance. **Why Work Here?** Join a global leader in the specialty steel manufacturing industry, offering a variety of benefits when contractors go permanent, including health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and monthly employee appreciation events.
