Manufacturing Operator Grinding
2nd shift – 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for operating various grinding machines including centerless grinding, top and bottom grinding, surface grinding, and ID hone grinding. The Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for producing precision parts to specifications, ensuring efficient machine operation, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate grinding machines to perform tasks such as grinding, honing, polishing, and deburring of metal parts. Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are within tolerances and meet quality standards. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any machining issues and optimize processes. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine grinding specifications and requirements. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they remain in optimal working condition. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling tools. Capable of walking, bending, stooping, and lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying objects weighing up to 35 lbs. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling tools. Comfortable working in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including but not limited to: safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes with metatarsal protection and anti-slip soles, cut resistant gloves, when necessary, additional PPE as required.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Grinding Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in operating centerless grinding, top and bottom grinding, surface grinding, and ID hone grinding machines preferred. Knowledge of grinding techniques, tooling, and materials. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and quality. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent.
