A Day in the Life:

The Grocery Key Person champions customer service programs to meet or exceed Division goals, effectively resolving customer complaints and promoting personalized service. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties. The role assists the Grocery Manager in planning and directing daily operations, implementing merchandising policies, and handling front-end functions. Additional duties involve acting as a backup checker, engaging in suggestive selling, accounting for sales, and managing cash register tapes. The Grocery Key Person prepares tasks for night stockers, controls shrink, prevents the sale of out-of-code products, and ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, and security policies. In the absence of the Store Director and Grocery Manager, the Grocery Key Person oversees store operations, supervises employees, and handles customer complaints. The role requires extensive retail management experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage and develop people.
