Key Responsibilities:As a Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Utility Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced GSE Maintenance Operations department. The GSE Utility Specialist plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal customers and performs work in accordance with guidelines established in the collective bargaining agreement.
Identifying and checking tools, test equipment and certain commodities in and out of the warehouse, as well as the servicing, receiving, cleaning, transportation, inventory storage and accounting of tools, test equipment, parts and commodities used in the daily operationPerform routine maintenance tasks of general nature, such as servicing and transporting equipmentLight maintenance tasks such as replacing head light/tail lights, wiper blades, oil changes, excluding trouble-shootingRoutine fluid and vehicle operational inspectionsLimited cart and dolly work, excluding welding and major structural repairsSurface treatment on engines, aircraft, and component parts with chemicals and sandblasting equipmentAutomotive and light truck tire build up and servicingPerform minor repairs on food service equipmentAssist Technicians with work as requestedPerform minor repairs on food service equipmentGSE Utility Specialists are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United ContractNew employees are required to join the unionGSE Utility Specialists must be able to work around the clock shifts including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditionsSchedules are bid and awarded according to seniorityOther tasks as assigned and outlined in the CBAThere’s never been a more exciting time to join United Airlines.
