Responsibilities:
· Perform the role Ground Systems Engineer across multiple acquisition efforts, to include: design, development, integration, test, deployment efforts and establishing novel ground systems architecture and designs.
· Familiarity with digital engineering best practices, to include use of model-based system engineering approaches.
· Familiarity with modern commercial software development best practices, to include DevSecOps, CI/CD, and microservices-based software architectures.
· Assist in development of RFP packages and other technical documentation for competition and acquisition of new systems.
· Aid the Government team on potential solutions across a wide variety of multi-domain, tactical, and mission area applications.
· Develop CONOPs and operational plans at both the system and mission levels.
· Recommend and coordinate development with related activities of other DoD and non-DoD agencies.
· Assist with analysis of the design, assembly, integration and testing, and data reduction of proposed technical solutions and formulating evaluation criteria of those solutions.
· Attend project meetings and reviews to include technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and program management reviews.
· Assist the Government in analyzing contractor concept designs at the system and subsystem levels
· Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Self-starting, charge-the-hill mentality to deliver mission capability at the speed of need.
Qualifications:
· 15+ years' of experience in systems engineering or a closely related field.
· 4+ years’ experience in the DoD working special access programs within the last 6 years.
· Experience working with commercial and/or Government satellite systems and operational ground systems.
· Involvment with mission planning, maintenance management systems, or ground communications.
· Experience working with development of reference architectures or reference implementations
· Famililarity with other USAF or DoD crewed or uncrewed ground system software and hardware.
· Knowledge of ground station RF systems.
· Experience with Multi-level Security (MLS) implementations and operational use.
· Understanding of hybrid cloud software targeted deployments.
· Experience working with or integrating with CMCC.
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, electrical engineer, systems engineering, physics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
· Master’s degree in computer science/engineering, electrical engineer, systems engineering, physics, or a closely related field from an accredited university, (DESIRED).
Certification Requirements:
· None
Clearance Requirements:
· Active Secret Clearance, (to start).
· Active Top-Secret Clearance, (DESIRED).
· TS/SCI Eligibility, (Required to maintain position).
· U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
