Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Nederland, Colorado

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora strives to deliver Colorado’s Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors.   Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

This position works with the Grounds and Facilities Department to ensure functionality and maintenance of company grounds and facilities. The right candidate must have prior Grounds Maintenance and Building Maintenance experience with knowledge in aspects such as, but not limited to; erosion mitigation, landscaping, machine operation, carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical, drywall repair and basic kitchen appliance repair. HVAC knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Perform general maintenance, minor plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, and painting. 

Perform basic carpentry framing and finish work for interior and exterior projects. 

Install and maintain parking lot erosion measures. 

Maintain equipment and tools as needed. 

Work on projects as the need arises. 

Maintain a safe work environment. 

Must be able to lift 75 lbs 

Ability to work from a ladder 

Able to climb stairs and ladders and move about all areas of the buildings easily 

Able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions including extreme cold and snowy/rainy conditions. 

Assist in winter season utility worker responsibilities. 

Maintain clean facilities in the summer season.

Must keep all work areas clean and in an orderly fashion at all times. 

Basic Requirements: 

​​Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. ​​​

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. ​​

Must have a valid US Driver’s License ​​

This position may require the use of a motor vehicle and the employee is subject to comply with the Driver’s Standards of Copper Mountain  ​​

Preferred Experience and Special Skills: 

2 years of experience in either grounds or building maintenance. 

Heavy machinery operation experience (Skid Steer, Backhoe, Telehandler, Front loader, etc.).    

Basic plumbing experience preferred. 

Basic carpentry experience required. 

Knowledge of erosion mitigation preferred.

Compensation: $22+/hour depending on experience
