Grounds and Facilities Utility Worker

Location: Nederland, Colorado

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora strives to deliver Colorado’s Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors.   Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Facility Cleanliness and Safety: 

Perform routine inspections of common spaces in the base area. 

Keep bathrooms clean and well stocked. 

Removal and disposal of trash and recycling from lodges and outdoor areas. 

Maintain function of lodge areas (making/stoking fireplaces, clearing tables, resetting eating areas). 

Snow Management: 

Conduct snow removal and ice control around the base area, including walkways, decks, and entryways. 

Assist in the proper routing of snow and ice runoff, ensuring adequate erosion and sediment control. ​

Equipment Management: 

Daily set up and take down of fencing and ski racks. 

Operate and help maintain resort vehicles and equipment, such as trucks, snowblowers, hand tools, some power tools, and utility carts. 

Ensure proper storage and regular servicing of tools and machinery. ​

Guest Services: 

Aid guests as needed, helping with directions and general inquiries. 

Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with guests and addressing their needs or concerns.

Communication and Coordination: 

Coordinate with other departments, such as ski patrol, guest services, and lift ops to ensure efficient operations. 

Report any issues or maintenance needs to supervisors or relevant department heads promptly. 

Environmental Responsibility:

Follow environmental guidelines for waste disposal, recycling, and resource management. 

Participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to minimizing the resort's environmental impact.

This position is a seasonal position and may have fluctuations in hours worked based upon overall business volumes.

Basic Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. 

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. 

 Must have a valid US Driver’s License 

This position may require the use of a motor vehicle, and the employee is subject to comply with the Driver’s Standards of Copper Mountain

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $19+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. 

 

Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.  Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
