The candidate will assist the Program Manager with daily grounds maintenance and lawn/snow removal equipment operation, construction planning and execution functions including landscape maintenance, landscape demolition and replacement, and repair of landscape after construction activities. Additionally, the candidate will assist with maintaining the Roswell fleet of vehicles and equipment, snow crew and event management, and the execution of capital work that affects the campus exterior. The Roswell campus is situated on 28-acres in the heart of downtown Buffalo which includes 15 research, clinical, and administrative buildings with more than 2.2 million gross square feet, 5 patios/terraces, 3 parks, 200,000 square feet of turf and 150,000 square feet of planting beds, a vehicle/equipment fleet valued at approximately $1.4 million, nearly 2 miles of sidewalk/walkways, and 3.5 miles of broadcast irrigation. The pay range for this position is $48,956 - $59,757 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.Qualifications:Required Education and ExperienceLicense Requirements
Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License
Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Valid Commercial Driver's License with the Passenger "P" Endorsement within two (2) years of hiring
Possession of or ability to obtain NYS Pesticide/Herbicide Application Category 3A license within two (2) years of hiring
Required Education & Experience:
1. Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Landscaping, Environmental Science or a related field; or
2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma with two (2) years experience in a related field.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
