Overview Personnel with the qualifications, technical knowledge, experience, and skills required to efficiently provide grounds maintenance and landscaping services. All personnel shall be fluent in English. Responsibilities • The Grounds Maintenance Lead is a working position, required to perform same types of duties as the Grounds Maintenance personnel preform. • Ensures assigned team members perform extensive mowing, trimming, and edging around buildings walkways and fences. Prunes or trims shrubs, spreads fertilizer, and removes clippings. • Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and work in areas where a potential exists for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents. • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use is required when applicable. Equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection. • Ensures grounds maintenance tools/equipment are maintained fully operational. • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all provided property (e.g., facilities, equipment, and tools). • Must obtain required licenses for the various equipment assigned to the section. • Actively works towards meeting contractual requirements and adhering to the monthly Grounds Cut Sheet schedule. • Leads team as they respond to service orders as directed and assigned. • Works in a professional and efficient matter with minimum downtime. • Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of time working outdoors during varying heat conditions. • Responsible for the upkeep of assigned PPE, tools, equipment, vehicles etc. and is liable to turn in for scheduled maintenance or when identified faulty. • Responsible for updating work orders using either a tablet, computer and/or handwritten on paper workorder. Updates included changing the work order status, inputting a log, requesting material and time performance. • Leads team as the perform general housekeeping when on site. • May be required to work weekends, holidays, early and late shifts. • Overtime may be required. • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. • Reports to the Grounds Supervisor. 100% Qualifications Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required. • Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a USG driver’s license • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in roads and grounds maintenance • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in operating and maintaining grounds equipment Skills & Technology Used: • Ability to understand lawn maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and road surface repair. • Knowledge and ability in using computer applications. • Ability to speak, write,read and understand fluent English. • Ability to interpret maps Working Environment: Tropical, seasonally hot, humid, with maritime influence and semi-continental features. Rainy period runs from May to October.
