Overview Supervises grounds maintenance staff to ensure Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements related to lawn/field maintenance, vegetation removal, and debris removal within installation grounds parcels designated as improved and Operational Areas are met. Services include mowing and trimming, edging; weed/vegetation control is limited to application of herbicides. Responsibilities + Oversees grounds maintenance staff performance to ensure work standards and safety regulations are met. + Schedule grounds maintenance actions to meet performance as outlined in PWS. + Apply herbicide when applicable. + Ensure grounds maintenance tools/equipment are maintained fully operational. + Initiate corrective actions to resolve problems, prevent delays and guarantee customer satisfaction. + Responsible for following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with Vectrus, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and United States Navy (USN) requirements. + Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. + Responsible for completing all required training to include staff. + Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all provided property (e.g., facilities, equipment, and tools). + Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheets. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Certified Pesticide Applicator with Category Numbers 3 (Ornamental and Turf) and 6 (Right-of-Way). + Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements. + Experience: + Must possess a minimum of two years' of experience in supervising maintenance of grounds and surfaced areas. + Experience with operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. + Skills & Technology Used: + Ability to understand grounds maintenance techniques and equipment operation. + Knowledge and ability in computer applications. + Working Environment: + Tropical, seasonally hot, humid, with maritime influence and semi-continental features. + Rainy period runs from May to October. + It is characterized by the influence of the North Atlantic Anticyclone, Dry season extends from November to April + Material & Equipment Directly Used: + Push lawnmowers, Zero Turn Mowers, Tractors, Weed Eaters, Chainsaws, Trimmers, and Hedge Clippers + Pick-up Trucks with Trailers, Shovels, Hand Rakes, Blowers, Brooms, and Basic Hand Tools etc. + Laptop or Desk Computer At V2X, we are deeply committed to both equal employment opportunity, including protection for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
