FPM is pleased to serve all members of the PSU community, and takes a tremendous amount of pride in providing a superior and vibrant learning environment : https://www.pdx.edu/facilities/ Position Summary FPM is seeking an experienced Grounds Worker 2 to perform landscaping and maintenance tasks for campus grounds, and apply their expertise in horticulture (including irrigation/water management, tree care/arboriculture and integrated pest management/pesticide application) to create and maintain a safe and vibrant campus environment. The role includes turf and plant care; exterior maintenance; landscaping maintenance, planning and design; equipment maintenance and repair

All facilities maintenance personnel are considered essential personnel and may be required to respond to campus emergencies, including inclement weather.
This is a permanent full-time position within an innovative team-oriented environment located in downtown Portland, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with at least 38 days of paid time off each year, 95% employer-funded premium healthcare, 100% employer-funded retirement plans, and 70% off of tuition for the employee, dependent children, and your spouse or domestic partner. This position is represented by SEIU 89. Minimum Qualifications from Classification -Pesticide applicator’s license may be required based on position duties; AND
-Two years experience as a grounds keeper which included plant care; OR
-An Associate’s degree in Landscape Technology or Horticulture; OR
-Completion of a Landscape Certification program or license in a horticultural specialty. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Must possess, or be able to possess, pesticide applicator’s license within six months of employment.
Successful completion of a background check.
Possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Two year Associates degree in horticulture or similar degree or certification and concentration in landscape maintenance. The starting salary will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
