Group Chapter Leader, UX Design, Fidelity Institutional

The Role

We’re looking for a User Experience Design, Group Chapter Leader to manage a team of managers and designers. As a Group Chapter Lead, you’ll be critical in making connections between our design organization, and the business to drive innovation and deliver best-in-class digital experiences that instill confidence in our customers. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

In this role you will be providing product design strategy and creative leadership for Fidelity Institutional business unit.

Some key responsibilities:

· Supporting key UX organizational objectives and acting as a change agent to drive significant transformation across product teams

· Identifying and developing strategic design opportunities to drive product and business strategy.

· Collaborating across functions to make pragmatic decisions to increase our speed to market while upholding the quality of the experience so that teams can build towards a better future

· Aligning work of individual teams to broader customer journeys.

· Solution-focused mentality that deliberates and debates challenges in a positive way that gains alignment with others

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

· 10+ years of UX design management experience, including skills in coaching design teams to their highest potential. Experience managing managers a plus.

· Experience identifying and acquiring talent needs; and resource planning across large organizations

· Unwavering curiosity to ask why and dig deeper to understand the root causes of any ambiguous customer problem

· Intellectual humility that allows you to see beyond cognitive biases and take in multiple perspectives

· A strong presenter and communicator that brings the future vision to life and motivates people to do outstanding work

· Familiarity with the value of design systems, understand reuse and scale, and know when to contribute to make them better

· You continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working

· You have foundation of technical development (software engineering) and architecture of digital products

· You understand at the core of a strong team is trust, adaptability and resilience.

· You have a powerful impulse to improve existing designs, invent new experiences, and perform better than our competition

Additional requirements specific to the Group Chapter Lead, FI role

Established leader

· Deep understanding of Institutional Wealth Management Services, with the ability to drive end to end strategy across platforms and technologies.

· FI provides investment insights, strategies and solutions, as well as trading and prime brokerage services, to a wide range of wealth management firms, asset managers and institutional investors – subject matter expertise is preferred.

· Proven track record collaborating with senior level leaders toward successful business outcomes

· Has effectively led large scale change initiatives, showing ability to be a catalyst for change

· Strategic thinker who can drive a data-driven future-state vision while delivering on near-term KPIs

· Successful history of demonstrating strategic partnership to the business and bringing the business strategy to life through experiences

· Relationship builder / unifier who can successfully navigate the needs of multiple stakeholder groups

· Demonstrates a cross enterprise mindset -- thinks beyond one business unit and considers our full ecosystem of channels and capabilities

The Team

This role supports Brokerage at Fidelity, a group that helps a wide array of customers with services like wealth management, retirement planning, brokerage services, workplace plan administration, college savings, and financial planning and engagement programs. This role also supports Fidelity’s User Experience Design team, a group that delivers simple and accessible digital experiences to its customers.

The base salary range for this position is $124,000-$262,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
