Group Lead, NYC - Inside Sales
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 About the Role: The Team: The North America Client Coverage team is responsible for the sales/licensing of intellectual property of S&P Dow Jones Indices. Additional responsibilities include establishing and building strong relationships with clients, prospecting for new index customers and managing/expanding the commercial footprint of S&P Dow Jones Indices within their prescribed territory. S&P DJI maintains relationships with investment banks, asset managers, ETF issuers, market data consumers and redistributors, insurance companies, proprietary trading firms, exchanges and other key market participants who rely upon our world-renowned indices, research, and commentary. Our North America Inside Sales team have the unique responsibility to spearhead and communicate any updates to sales policy/workflows and manage the Sales Pipelines for the entire North America Client Coverage team and help in facilitating sales deals by working on sales leads, client enquiries, Salesforce processing and strategic projects. The team works in full partnership with regional sales representatives, sales specialists, key account managers and channel managers to help shape our client experience. Responsibilities and Impact: In this Group Lead role, you will lead our US & Canada Inside Sales team (4-5 Sales Associates) and report into the North America & Europe Team Lead. As a Regional Group Lead you will be dedicated to improving customer interaction quality, process efficiencies and technology adoption, whilst aligning with our commercial strategy to foster sales growth and operational efficiency. You will work with the regional Sales Associates to ensure adoption of enhancements in sales processes and tool optimization across the team and build accountability to global standards. In addition to management responsibilities, as part of this role you will also be paired with specific a Client Coverage Team Member within the region to provide sales support for all stages of the sales cycle. You will assist our clients by processing sales requests, cancellations, or amendments to existing agreements. You will have close collaboration with Legal, Commercial Data Services, Finance and Client Services teams. There will also be commercially focused projects/processes for you to deliver in addition to data analysis for key workflows and report up on metrics on your team’s performance. The successful candidate will lead an upcoming project to qualify and convert sales leads for Fixed Income clients in the region, and work to document and enhance workflows in relation to our Fixed Income offerings. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead a team of 4-5 Sales Associates Provide mentorship and identify development opportunities for all Sales Associates under your purview, encouraging professional growth whilst ensuring alignment to global processes and broader business objectives Interact frequently with key stakeholders in North America to assess, benchmark, and track our progress as a team Look critically at existing processes and documentation to seek opportunities for improvement Collaborate with other group leads globally to ensure timely escalation and resolution of operational inefficiencies Sales Support Partner with our Sales team to respond to and process inquiries via Salesforce for queries on (but not limited to) New licensing and entitlements Client billing & reporting Client renewals/usage statistics Client prospectus language Existing client maintenance & day-to-day user care Process Sales deals - Sales Orders, Opportunities and Entitlements (Data, IP and Custom), Agreement Drafting & Negotiation with internal and external legal teams Effectively collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, Product Management, Data Product management, Client Services, Legal Work on both sales and strategic based projects that assist with general workflow efficiencies Drive customer satisfaction and adoption within existing accounts Hold weekly meetings with Sales Representatives to provide them with relevant statistics, KPIs and updates on key regional/global initiatives Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 68,093 to $136,600. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Excellent communication skills and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field 2+ Years in People Management 3+ Years in a Specialty/Discipline: Client Services, Sales Support, or similar role Proven track record in sales management and leadership Demonstrated expertise in process improvement and operational optimization Comprehensive understanding of sales analytics, project management, and Salesforce Excellent level of proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce Ability to solve complex problems in a timely and accurate manner for internal and external stakeholders Ability to maintain a balanced focus between daily duties and larger scale projects Strong analytical abilities to discover discrepancies, potential improvements in workflows and systems, and new revenue-generating opportunities Knowledge of Tableau, Salesforce, Microsoft PowerBI or other data visualization tools advantageous Additional Preferred Qualifications: 3+ Years in Industry: Financial Services preferred Knowledge of index products and services advantageous Right to Work Requirements: This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
