AECOM is looking for a Group Lead to join the Queensland and Northern Territory Transport Leadership Team, to support shaping the direction of our operations and growth across ANZ. In this role, you will lead by example, fostering a culture of positive leadership, collaboration, and excellence. You will work closely with the Group Director, Operations Director and fellow Group Leads to craft, advocate for and support executing business plans that align with the ambitions of our Client Accounts, ANZ strategy and our financial goals.
This position offers a unique blend of project delivery, business development, and operations management, allowing you to make a significant impact across our organisation. The role requires a positive mindset towards supporting growth initiatives and ensuring strong relationships with associated representatives, fostering collaboration across the organisation.
As a "face to market," you will drive brand growth through strategic market engagement and thought leadership, aligning and collaborating with key internal stakeholders such as our TMR, TU & TfNSW Client Account Directors/Managers to strengthen market presence and identify new business opportunities. You will manage the forward pipeline for your group, partnering with teams across ANZ to prioritise and pursue high-value projects.
We’re looking for a leader with proven experience in operations management, business development, and project delivery. Your ability to inspire trust through exceptional communication and relationship-building will be pivotal in connecting with local stakeholders and clients. A forward-thinking mindset, combined with a passion for delivering results and driving meaningful impact, will position you for success in this role.
Job DescriptionWhat will a day in this role look like:
Lead our Highways and Transport Advisory, Pavements and Aviation teams’ culture, performance, client relationships, contractor relationships and project delivery across our South-East Queensland offices. Work with an industry leading team on a broad range of city-shaping transport infrastructure projects, including some of Queensland’s largest transport projects. Influence and lead strategy development and execution to achieve business success. Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams. Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, customers and partners. Lead change and productivity as we continue our digital delivery journey. QualificationsWhat are we looking for from you?
Tertiary qualification in engineering suitable to hold (or obtain) RPEQ status in Queensland, ideally with 15 years + relevant experience.Demonstrated experience in managing major transport infrastructure projects in a design capacity and meeting delivery requirements. Knowledge of the market for consulting services in Queensland to support the positioning and winning of projects, including Business Cases, design only contract development, D&C and ETI delivery. An effective leader with tenacity and drive to achieve outstanding results, grow the team and balance priorities. Strong client focus and relationships, with business development experience and demonstrated commercial acumen. Understanding of consulting resourcing planning and forecasting. Flexibility to be present across our Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast offices to develop client relationships, mentor staff and build team rapport.
