Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.
Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Group Leader, Pharmaceutics. The Kansas City Pharmaceutics Group Leader serves as Technical Lead for formulation design and development of oral solid dosage forms. Design and execute experiments and processes necessary for developing formulations of pharmaceuticals oral solid. dosage forms; Authoring of registration protocols, reports, QbD studies; Support for investigations and risk assessments; Serves as Technical formulation development/ manufacturing SME for oral solid development programs.
This is a full-time role position: Monday-Thursday -2nd shift. Hourly, Onsite

The Role
Develop and execute laboratory work plans/schedules for self and team, using customer milestones and Division/site performance standards and metrics. Independently authors and approves technical documents, such as protocols, technical reports, test methods and operating procedures.
Review technical documents for accuracy, thoroughness and regulatory compliance. Trains, coaches or mentors others on technical, personal development or business issues. Supervises technical staff, including work assignments and performance and development management
Responsible as project director on multiple projects, with responsibility for project outcome and customer interaction, including developing customer relationship to grow the business
Identifies and independently drives department level improvements. Identify and recommend business strategies for multiple customers across multiple company sites
Manages professional employees and/or supervisors. Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from manager. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers. Uses leading-edge knowledge of principles, concepts and practices and/or techniques to lead complex projects within a department/ group/team that may involve related departments/groups/ teams.
Applies technical, functional, business and/or industry knowledge to design experiments/projects. Provide scientific consultation to the department/ discipline/group.
Actively contributes to the strategic direction of the department/ group by recommending expansion or curtailment of investigations on the basis of experimental results or scientific information

The Candidate
Required a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Pharmaceutics, Biology, Chemistry or closely related physical with a minimum of three years experience in pharmaceutical industry.
Required Leadership skills include excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of stakeholders, the strong ability to lead, mentor, train, motivate, direct and empower a team, influence and lead change, contribute strategic, analytical insight for problem solving and partner with cross functional teams to identify gaps, develop and implementation of continuous improvement ideas
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer required
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Occasional requirement to work in cold environment to fill orders (walk-in refrigerator/freezer)
