Introduction to the job
As the Group Leader of a functional team within ASML’s Metrology department, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge metrology solutions that integrate physics, mechatronics, mechanics, and optics. Working in close collaboration with the software-metrology development team within the same department, you will lead and manage a group of highly skilled physicists and mathematicians to drive products and innovation.
Role and responsibilities
As Group leader you'll:
Manage a team of approximately 20–30 professionals, overseeing all aspects related to people, processes, and product development.
Define and implement resource capacity and capability strategies for the group.
Contribute to defining and executing function roadmaps, maintaining documentation, providing training, and ensuring effective simulation and diagnostics.
Collaborate with project leaders within development programs to align staffing with program needs, review project plans, and proactively support product realization.
Work closely with Metrology Software groups to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs that meet the requirements of ASML’s product development programs. This includes reviewing proposed technical solutions, assessing technical product documentation, supporting project management decisions, and mentoring group members.
Ensure operational excellence by maintaining high-quality technical solutions, procedures, and documentation delivered by the group.
Education and experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
University level degree in science, preferred are physics or mathematics, with 7+ years of experience in developing (metrology) solutions in an industrial production environment.
A strong engineering background with hands-on technical expertise.
Experience with managing a team of highly skilled professionals.
Direct experience with customers.
Hands-on project management is a plus.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
