Group Product Marketing Manager

 

Job Summary

The Group Product Marketing Manager position is responsible for complete management of the assigned products from creation of new products through their removal from the product line. The individual is the leader for the assigned product line business charged with product launch objectives in addition to effective product and channel execution. Decisions made on products produced, manufacturing specifications, marketing strategies, sales commercialization, and promotional opportunities will be largely influenced by the research, data and analysis generated by and recommendations made by the Group Product Marketing Manager.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In collaboration with  business unit strategy and objectives , and based on a foundation of industry leading market research techniques and knowledge, this role will be responsible for the development and execution of new product introductions and management of existing SKU’s in the portfolio.  The Group Product Marketing Manager has direct report(s) and is responsible for developing a high performing team. The following are the key responsibilities for this position:

(15%) Provides strategic leadership and direction on the marketing of products across all its channels of distribution. These strategies will need to align with business unit objectives, appropriately address unique channel dynamics, and should be focused on the customer.    (15%) Manages market research initiatives with the intention of establishing fact-based approaches to business and marketing strategy development. Research initiatives will target industry, market, channel and/or customer dynamics and trends as well as end-user preferences and purchase drivers. This role will ensure that research initiatives answer key strategic inputs and are executed in the most efficient manner. Research results and/or conclusions will be appropriately communicated. (20%) The Group Product Marketing Manager is responsible for managing projects leading a cross functional team to deliver agreed upon results on time.  (15%) The Group Product Marketing Manager and his or her team lead category management activities with a focus on SKU’s sold in the retail channel.  Pricing, packaging, SKU rationalization, point of purchase materials, new products and promotions are included. (10%) Supports regional trade shows with the development and training of the commercial team, interacting with show attendees and working with the press. (10%) Works with Channel and Brand Managers to support product launch communications (literature, trade shows, PR, packaging, etc.). (5%) Oversees and develops the product marketing discretionary budget; in collaboration with finance and the marketing director, estimates expenditures, manages PO’s to finish the year at or below budget. (10%) Supervises and develops direct reports, monitor performance, and evaluate departmental effectiveness.

                               

Education and Experience Profile

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is required, or equivalent experience / MBA preferred Minimum 10+ years’ experience in product marketing.

Work Environment:

Moderate travel required (15 -20 percent). Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

 

Pay Range: $143,902-$211,057.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
