Group Safety Manager - Occupational Health Safety & Risk
Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Group People Safety

Responsible for Group Safety and Operational Risk Management (GSORM) Operational Risk Management programmes, Safety Management System (SMS) & Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) related duties.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Management SystemContinuously improve the Group’s SMS, ensuring the Quality Management System supports it, in collaboration with GSORM Group Quality; develop and maintain SMS training programmes to meet regulatory/industry standards for employees and SMS Coordinators.
Deliver SMS training and briefings, communicating programme details to stakeholders effectively; monitor SMS training completion and performance for IOSA/regulatory compliance; coordinate safety promotion programmes, contributing to communication channels and publications (e.g., People communication, The Hub, GSORM Safety Promotion).Operational Risk ManagementMaintain and enhance GSORM Safety Risk Management (SRM) programmes; coordinate and conduct operational risk assessments (SRAs) across group airlines and departments, ensuring timely reviews.
Maintain the operational risk register and contribute to the corporate risk register; enhance safety risk management training and promote a risk management culture, providing guidance on best practices.
SMS DocumentationDevelop consistent processes for managing GSORM documentation, including compliance documents; author and maintain SMS documentation to meet regulatory/industry standards; contribute to policy documents and safety governance system development.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)

Oversee the Group OHS programme in Hong Kong and outports, developing a strategic plan to enhance OHS; improve and develop tools/processes to increase OHS programme efficiency.
Conduct OHS accident/incident investigations, providing reports and prevention recommendations; offer specialist OHS advice and ensure port managers understand their OHS responsibilities.
Maintain liaison with Group Medical Department on OHS and wellbeing; ensure OHS compliance, advising GMGSORM/HGPS of non-compliance risks.
Act as the primary contact with the Hong Kong Labour Department on OHS matters; represent the Group at the Swire Pacific Health and Safety Committee, managing related documentation.OthersParticipate in operational safety committees and meetings as required; undertake safety duties or projects as directed by GMGSORM or HGPS.Requirements

Skills

A high standard of written and verbal communication skills; Well-developed interpersonal skills.Computer literacy.Ability to relate to all levels, both inside and outside the organization; ability to work unsupervised.Good analytical skills.

Knowledge

Relevant OHS undergraduate degree.Detailed and working knowledge of OHS principles and practices; detailed and working knowledge of OHS regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong.Sound knowledge of OHS regulatory frameworks in jurisdictions where the Company employs staff.Sound knowledge of basic safety management principles and practices.

Experience

Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in airline industry or related industry.Minimum of 3 years in managerial role. Apply now
