Job Title: Group Worker

 

Job Summary:                                           

CASES is seeking a dedicated social worker for its new workforce development program CRED (community Resources for Employment and Development) who is participant centered and desires to work in partnership with participants to accomplish their life and career goals. The ideal candidate has experience conducting groups with individuals who have systems involvement and has the fundamental belief that change is possible. The social worker must be sensitive to the needs, feelings and cultural backgrounds of the participants and be responsive in a non-judgmental manner.

 

Salary:  The salary for the Group Worker role is $70,000 per year.

Shift Hours: The Group Worker is working Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm or 10am-6pm with flexibility.

Location Address: 4 West 125th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10027.

Workplace Flexibility:  Flexible: Positions for which staff have flexibility to complete their workday from home or another suitable space, typically after reporting to the office and/or engaging in field or community-based work. 

 

What you will be doing: 

Conduct group sessions and individual sessions as needed.Assess program participants using validated assessments to inform individual treatment planning and service delivery.Screen participants for signs of symptoms and exposure to trauma using standardized trauma screening instruments.Attend weekly supervision, clinical case conferencing and team meetings.Coordinate with all team members to ensure that participants are meeting program goals and obtaining necessary services.Manage crises as they come up.Complete charting using database, following the program standards and timelines.Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practices.

What we are looking for:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) required.At least 3 years of successful and relevant supervisory experience and experience in mental health counseling.Highly organized and self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously.Thorough understanding of a strengths-based approach while working with participants.

 Additional, preferred skills we are looking for:

Experience facilitating groups/ group work.
