Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Groups and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a key member of our events department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing group events and functions, ensuring exceptional experiences for our clients and guests.
Manage the entire event lifecycle, from initial client consultation to post-event evaluationDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholdersCreate detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and logistics plansCoordinate all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and entertainmentOversee on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfactionManage multiple events simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraintsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event deliveryConduct post-event evaluations and prepare reports for management and clientsStay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planningEnsure compliance with local regulations and safety standards for all eventsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field3-5 years of experience in event planning or hospitality industryProven track record of successfully planning and executing group events and functionsStrong knowledge of event planning processes, vendor management, and budgetingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team membersOutstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detailProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management softwareProblem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situationsFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedulesKnowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry in Dubai and the UAEFamiliarity with local vendors and suppliers in the regionProfessional certification in event planning (e.g., CMP - Certified Meeting Professional) preferredFluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
