Job Description

We are seeking a Grower Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This is an immediate, full-time position with a local almond handler. The role involves working closely with field personnel, generating purchase contracts and grower payments, verifying incoming crop information, and supplying growers with harvest reports and statements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining payment schedules, creating crop estimates, and reconciling information between two databases. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, and a basic understanding of accounting. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and occasional overtime during the months of August to January is essential.

ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage grower filesMaintain existing grower filesCreate and enter grower purchase contracts into the databaseOrganize receiving data from the plantCheck data entered in the inventory system against USDA and receiving documentsPrint and distribute daily receiving reports for growersAssist with compiling grower crop estimatesWork sitting from an office deskPrepare correspondence, reports, forms, etc., accurately and in a timely mannerWork in our custom-built inventory management systemMaintain strict confidentialityWork effectively with staff, almond growers, and the general public from diverse ethnic and cultural backgroundsEssential SkillsExperience with journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations, and year-end processesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookupsUnderstanding of cash flow, debit credits, and GAAP accountingStrong internal and external communication skills, including professional email correspondenceAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma required; college degree preferred3-5 years of accounting experience at a senior levelExperience in manufacturing or agriculture is advantageousProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and administrative skills such as filing, scanning, and data entryWork Environment

This role is based in an office setting, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (early start is acceptable). Expect occasional overtime and weekend work during the peak season from August to January. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00/hr.
