What is the role?
Howden is committed to growing its global Specialty insurance business through collaboration and expertise. Our Global Specialty Practices (GSPs) connect specialists across regions to deliver exceptional solutions for clients, whether local, regional, or multinational.
A dedicated Growth Execution team was established to drive the strategic growth of GSPs. This team focuses on identifying and delivering growth initiatives for various practices. As a Growth Execution Manager (GEM), you will play a key role in supporting and advancing these initiatives, working on selected projects to achieve meaningful results for our global Specialty insurance business.
We are seeking a motivated, results-driven individual to join our team, contribute to exciting projects, and enjoy the journey along the way. Specific responsibilities and projects will be confirmed closer to your start date.
Please note that we are recruiting for this role as part of the 2025 Howden Return to Work Programme. As such, this role is eligible only for returners and will initially be structured as a 6-month FTC.
What will you be doing?
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Collaborate closely with the GEMs to develop/ support comprehensive practice development plans including project objectives, goals, scope and timelines.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for project delivery.
Identify and manage potential risks and issues.
Thought Leadership and Innovation:
Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance the capabilities and impact of our GSPs – both internally and externally.
Organise internal forums to share insights, best practices, and thought leadership for relevant practices,
Help with other strategic or execution activities related to GSP development and growth.
Potential Projects/Activities are listed below (not exhaustive):
Build a global SharePoint site for best practice and knowledge sharing.
Build a training academy/ hub for colleagues and new starters.
Collaborate with specialist teams to design and deliver global propositions.
Collaborate with specialist teams, local colleagues, and marketing to develop local product/ sector strategy and campaigns.
Build a global ‘toolbox’ for auxiliary content (including wordings, marketing materials, tools etc.).
Create and maintain a key win/ proposal log.
What are we looking for?
Familiarity with the insurance industry is essential to support our global Specialty practices effectively.
Experience in consulting, strategy execution, or project management is highly valued.
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, fostering collaboration across teams.
A can-do attitude, entrepreneurial mindset, and readiness to embrace challenges with both strategic and pragmatic approaches.
