The Growth Initiatives Sales and Business Development (BD) Specialist leads Global Services (GS) sales and business development activities for AWS-wide priority growth initiatives. This role represents Global Services as part of cross-functional growth initiative teams, contributes to growth strategy and planning, and collaborates with customers, field teams, and GS Business Units to execute and close customer opportunities aligned with strategic initiatives.
This role requires a self-starter who will partner closely with key stakeholders across field Sales, Service/Industry Specialists, while leading cross-functional pursuit teams. The ideal candidate must have proven sales/business development experience in technology products/services, strong analytical skills, and AWS services knowledge. They should excel at translating ambiguous information into actionable plans while demonstrating customer obsession, exceptional stakeholder management, and strong communication skills. Success requires the ability to execute strategic plans effectively, working with both executive and operational stakeholders to achieve AWS and Global Services business outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
As an experienced professional, you will be responsible for:
• Assessing and articulating Global Services (GS) value propositions for target customer cohorts within the growth initiative
• Collaborating with account teams, stakeholders, and partners to win customer business and secure public references
• Developing and iterating on win strategies and market approaches for GS services and offerings
• Providing strategic feedback to GS product teams to enhance existing offerings and develop new solutions
• Partnering with the GS deals team to create tailored proposals throughout the sales cycle
• Documenting and standardizing successful strategies, tactics, and best practices for account and sales teams.
