Job Overview The Manager for Growth Strategy leads efforts to understand the competitive landscape and external environment, ensuring that CGS is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities. This role manages a team responsible for gathering and analyzing market intelligence, developing growth campaign plans, and monitoring competitor activities. The individual collaborates closely with strategy, operations, business development, capture, and proposal writing teams to ensure alignment with CGS’s overall growth objectives. A key focus of the role is to develop strategies and actionable growth campaigns that drive informed decision-making, helping the organization stay ahead in a competitive market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, managing pipelines, and developing data-driven growth strategies. Work Model: Hybrid Location Options: Reston, VA; Huntsville, AL; San Diego, CA; Anchorage, AK Preferred Location: Candidates based in the National Capital Region will be given preference Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Lead and manage the team responsible for market and competitive intelligence, ensuring that insights are effectively translated into strategic growth actions. Develop and execute strategic growth campaign plans that align with CGS’s objectives, incorporating data-driven insights, market trends, and competitive analysis. Oversee the management of the strategic pipeline, focusing on identifying, tracking, and pursuing new business opportunities, while aligning pipeline activities with long-term growth strategies. Collaborate with all elements of the growth organization, including strategy, business development, capture, and proposal writing teams, to ensure alignment and drive growth initiatives. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of competitor activities, market dynamics, and the external business environment, leveraging this knowledge to inform CGS’s strategy and positioning. Work closely with senior leadership to develop long-term growth strategies that are proactive and capitalize on emerging opportunities and industry trends. Provide frequent, data-driven presentations to senior leadership, delivering insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities. Ensure the CRM system accurately reflects the status of ongoing campaign plans, opportunities, and business development efforts. Work with government relations personnel to ensure strategic alignment with regulatory and policy developments. Utilize financial analysis and budgeting skills to ensure resources are appropriately allocated to growth initiatives. Create metrics and KPIs for measuring the success of growth campaigns, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization of strategic efforts. Monitor and manage risks associated with growth initiatives, identifying and addressing potential challenges early in the process. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Strategy, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in market intelligence, business development, or competitive analysis, with a focus on developing strategic growth initiatives. Proven experience in managing business development pipelines, developing growth campaigns, and executing data-driven strategies. Strong financial analysis and budget management skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
