GS Finance Accounting Sr Team Lead

This role will be part of the Global Services Finance team in the Inventory COGS Accounting process area. The Global Services Finance organization provides best-in-class, cost-effective financial services, and compliance—in a JJ way—to our Operating Companies around the world.

The Inventory COGS Accounting team is responsible for complete and accurate accounting for all Inventory, Distribution, Costing and Other Costs Not In Standard (OCNIS). This includes but is not limited to managing Inventory Distribution costs which includes focus on reserves, revaluations, and adjustments (e.g., Stock counts adjustments) partnering closely with Supply Chain colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Be compliant with applicable laws and regulations, and follow guidelines in the JJ Credo

2. Maintain Operational Excellence

· Responsible for driving standardization and improvements across all markets under scope, provide visibility and drive solutions to improve Inventory process

· Lead specific GS Finance projects where applicable

· May have responsibilities for managing teams, direct or indirect, as needed

· Lead Inventory Team with the monthly, quarter and annual close activities, ensure journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliation and reports are completed within agreed timeline

· Timely closing execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and in accordance with SLAcommitments, fully observing Compliance, Internal Audit SOX requirements.

· Responsible accountable for completeness, accuracy and validity of process/entity within scope.

· Driving deep expertise, fully knowledgeable of the Worldwide Procedures and compliance requirements for respective areas.

· Regular focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations to minimize open items.

· On the job training for new team members / BPO partners.

· Support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.

· Understand, adhere, and execute per worldwide policies and procedures. Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions to remediate / prevent breach.

· Ensure strong internal controls are in place, in order to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings.

· Build collaboration with other team leads across global and regional teams to standardize and align processes.

· Communicate changes on standard procedures with team and at the same time assess impact to the operation.

· Ensure timeliness, accuracy and quality of work and service of the Inventory Team through regular review and approval.

· Manage escalation and immediately raise any potential issues to management.

· Collaborate influence key stakeholders/ business partners to align with the global services ways of working to achieve process efficiency.

· Drive support automation initiatives of the team to drive efficiency and enhancement in the process.

· Ensure team members have the appropriate skills, supporting tools and technologies to enable them to deliver excellent customer service.

· Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and guidance to the team.

· Any other tasks as deemed necessary

3. Talent Management

· Recruit, Onboard and Training of new joiners.

4. Be a Trusted Business Partner

· Execute global Strategy Solutions in line with taxonomy.

· Internally recruit, mentor, and drive the individual Process SMEs to ensure cross sector, cross region and cross process alignment, ensuring good documentation is maintained and consistency of a global approach.

· If assigned a role of Operational Key Contact (OKC) then candidates will be the key liaison point within their Process for a defined Region Sector with BUF and CFMs, answering queries, coordinating with SMEs/analysts on process and operational matters, resolving issues and updating partners on close status.

· If assigned a role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) then candidates will be responsible to ensure cross sector, cross region, and cross process alignment, ensuring good documentation is maintained and consistency of a global approach.

· CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other financial certifications is preferred.

· At least 7 or 8 years of professional experience is required.

· At least 3 or 4 years of Management / Supervisory experience is required.

· Flexible with any shift especially mid shift.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

· Be open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies.

· Strong Analytical and Influencing Skills

· Strong leadership skills to lead a team including team leads, as needed

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Good decision-making skills

· Basic ERP knowledge SAP Blackline (advantage)

· With Inventory Accounting background, preferred

· With Supply Chain or Stock Movement and related transactions background, preferred

· Experience in a Shared Service Centre of a multinational corporation or BPO (advantage)

· Experience in a Global Account to Report function of a large multi-state company (advantage)

· Proficient in MS Office in particular Excel (macro advantage)

· Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach.

· Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.

· Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge.

· Digital/ intelligent automation capabilities.

Other

· This position may require up to 10-20% % international travel.

· Candidates may be asked to work shifts to align with global assignments in Americas / EMEA / Asia.

· Lead/Participate in other Regional/Global/Cross functional duties as assigned.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
