GSE Mechanic

The GSE mechanic is responsible to provide preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs on all types of ground service equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties\n\nPerform scheduled preventative maintenance on company ground equipment.\nPerform complex repairs on vehicles, both electrical and mechanical.\nService fuel farm equipment\nPerform diagnostic procedures (including electrical) on vehicles and equipment to determine repair needs.\nOrder, receive, and inventory parts and supplies\nKeep maintenance records of all equipment, and report any heavy maintenance requirements to management and communicate as needed with contract maintenance personnel.\nAssist line service technicians on ramp as needed\n\n

Competencies\n\nAbility to interpret printed and computerized maintenance manuals\nFamiliar with various maintenance tooling, jacks, overhead cranes, hoists, and other required tools.\nAbility to write legibly to complete forms\/paperwork as required.\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft office products\nBasic mathematical knowledge\nFamiliar with carbureration, electical, brake and gas engines\nFamiliar with hydraulic system\nDemonstrate good orginzation skills\n\n

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the FBO Manager

Work Environment
This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:\n\nMust be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and\/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently\nPossible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery\nOutside work in all types of weather conditions.\nPosition requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping and climbing a ladder.\n\n

Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications\n\nFour (4) years on the job experience as a vehicle technician\nASE certification preferred\nTwo (2) years technical accredited training-ground service equipment maintenance preferred\nAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays\nAcceptable driving record\nAbility to pass a background check\nZero tolerance drug free employer includes pre-employment and random screening\n\n
